I am in the process of writing a proposal for the MASS Superintendents Tech Leadership Conference and thought that to practice what we preach I would use the wisdom of the crowd to help write it. I would appreciate any input you have at the edubloggercon wiki. . I would especially like to hear from anyone who has read Wikinomics or Here Comes Everybody and what they think are the key concepts for these books.

One of the themes that seemed to continue to emerge was that it is difficult to get other educators engaged in using technology. This is my own experience and Lisa relayed a story about her frustration in doing a lot of work for PD and several teachers not following through.
Clay Shirky in his book "Here Comes Everybody" reminds us that this is difficult work to bring about change in the education system, or any system.
"Communication tools don't get socially interesting until they get technologically boring. The invention of a tool doesn't create change; it has to have been around long enough that most of society is using it. It's when a technology becomes normal, then ubiquitous, and finally so pervasive as to be invisible, that the really profound changes happen, and for young people today, our new social tools have passed normal and are heading to ubiquitous and invisible is coming"
So we need to remember that for many people these new social tools are not yet normal.

It was a super day...Thank you so much for having it. On my drive home, I was just thinking of all the new ideas that I discovered today.

So good to see all those faces i know and hear those voices i recognise! How about discussing an action plan to disseminate knowledge of web2.0 tools outside the echo chamber?

I want to follow your conversations, but can't be there f2f because I am at the Pre-Conference in Woods Hole. By the way, I am now an official edublogger with my new blog at innovation3.edublogs.org. Good luck and have some great learning.
